Below is a basic raw food diet recipe for Raw Wheat or Rye Bread. This raw food recipe is field with good fiber from wheat berries or rye berries. You will not only enjoy the quality of this fulfilling raw bread recipe, but you can get creative with the taste. You can make various types of breads by adding olives, sundried tomatoes, chilli peppers, and more. You can make it as simple or gourmet as you like. After all, this is just the basics.
3 cups wheatberries or ryeberries (soaked and sprouted)
1 cup nut/seed flour (almond, oat, flax, sunflower seed, etc..)
2 small tomatoes (such as roma tomatoes), chopped
2 tablespoons basil (or a combination of herbal spices)
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Dash of sea salt
Drain wheatberries/ryeberries. Place in food processor with tomato, blending mixture to a dough. Add in nut/seed flour and remaining ingredients. Blend.
The tomato adds moisture to the bread. The mixture should never be soupy. Add more flour to form into dough if necessary.
Spread dough mixture, thickly onto teflex sheets, covering entire sheet as a square. You may estimate, about a 1 ½ inch to 2 inch thickness. Dehydrate at 110 degrees for 36 hours flipping once during drying cycle. Depending on the type of dehydrator you have, drying times will vary. Dehydrate bread until it is thick on the outside and moist on the inside.
Slice bread into squares yielding loaves.
