Raw Honey Mocha Fudge
Do you love chocolate? Do you love fudge? Then you will love this guilt-free recipe for fudge using raw chocolate called cacao. Cacao in regulated amounts (no more than a tablespoon a day) can be a source of antioxidants on the raw food diet. Cacao and Raw honey are superfoods rich with antioxidants which help to build the immune system.
1 cup of coconut butter/oil
1 tablespoon carob powder
1 tablespoon cacao powder
¼ cup cacao butter/cocoa butter
½ cup walnuts
¼ cup almond butter
½ cup cacao nibs
1 teaspoon maca root powder
½ cup raw honey (sweeten to taste)
In a high speed blender or food processor, process all ingredients except walnuts. Transfer mixture to a bowl and manually stir in walnut pieces. Freeze using one of the options suggested below.
Option 1: Pour mixture into ice cube trays or other molds. Freeze until set 2 to 3 hours. Serve.
Option 2: Pour mixture in long shallow plastic container. Cover container and freeze. Once fudge is ready, cut into squares.
Note: If cacao butter is difficult to find, replace with ¼ cup raw cashew butter or just add ¼ cup more almond butter.

The raw food diet is a detox diet. However, if you are talking about a more thorough detoxification before transitioning, it depends what your diet was like before. If you were a vegetarian or a vegan, then the detoxification period may be as short as 3 to 7 days. And there are many different ways inwhich you can detox. (1) eating strong greens with each raw meal (2) a Juice feast (3) wheatgrass juicing with a diet of high water content raw foods only.
If you ate meat before, you will probably look to detoxifying up to 10 days. Hope this information is helpful to you.
