February is the month which marks two very exciting events; first Black History is celebrated throughout the month; and second, Valentine’s Day is the occasion which sparks love of the heart and soul.Since Black History is a celebration and recognition of the achievements of African Americans in the United States and Valentine’s Day is the celebration of love, it’s almost serendipitous to combine the two. We have heard many stories of the accomplishments of those who have made history; but how often have we been made aware of famous, celebrated, and well known African American couples who have contributed greatly to the fabric of the United States — working together, loving each other, united as one.
